Google AI plus launches in India: Learn about features & price here

Google has introduced a new pricing tier in India called Google AI Plus, which is designed to offer Google’s newer AI capabilities (Gemini models, image/video creation, NotebookLM enhancements) at a much lower monthly expense than its more advanced plans.

What is Google AI+?

Google AI Plus is an upgraded subscription service that lies in between Google’s free AI experience and the more expensive categories of Google AI Pro / Google AI Ultra. The concentration is on: more access or constraints on using advanced AI tools + cloud storage space + AI in Google apps.

India Price (and Launch Offer)

In India, the price of Google AI Plus is:

₹399 per month (normal rate)
₹ 199 per month for 6 months (limited offer for new subscribers)

If you take advantage of the introductory offer for 6 months, the total amount for the initial 6 months will be:

199 x 6 = ₹1,194 (then it becomes ₹399 monthly afterwards).

What you get in Google AI Plus (key features)
1) Gemini application: enhanced model access rights + “more limits”

Google AI Plus brings better access to the Google Gemini 3 Pro model within the Gemini app compared to the free version. Of course, this is most important for longer conversations, extensive reasoning, multiple questions, and more complex tasks such as study/work planning, writing, coding solutions, and more.

It also comes with more opportunities to access Deep Research in Gemini. Deep Research is intended for multi-step research-type tasks in which the assistant collects, organize, and summarise the information rather than making a single-step response.

2) Improved image generation and/or editing (Nano Banana Pro)
AI Plus also brings improved usage rights of Google’s image creation/editing model Nano Banana Pro via the Gemini application. This is useful if you do:

social media creative

poster/banner drafts

thumbnails

product mock-ups

“edit this image” style prompts (if available)

3) Features of video generation (Gemini + Flow + Whisk)

AI Plus comes equipped with the facility for creating videos:

Video generation within Gemini

Google’s creative tool Flow (AI filmmaking tool)

and Whisk (image/video processing pipelines)

The subscription page also mentions limited access to Veo 3.1 Fast (the variant of Google’s video generation model focused on speed/effectiveness).

4) 200 AI credits per month

AI Plus comes with 200 monthly AI credits for video generation on both Flow and Whisk. Credits can actually be likened to a kind of monthly allowance that is used when you create videos and other heavy generation tasks.

This is important because it sets up what you are getting and what you are not getting. You are getting real video tools and not unlimited video creation. Video usage is metered by credits and plans.

5) Gemini in Google Apps (Gmail, Docs, etc.)

“AI Plus comes with Gemini embedded in Google apps, so you can leverage AI assistance support right along with you as you work in the applications you are already familiar with, such as writing/responding using Gmail, editing/summarizing using Docs, and other Google applications.”

This is particularly true in real-life situations, which help with the following
writing again in a different tone (formal, informal, brief, extended)

summarizing long notes into bullet points

easier email response generation
transforming raw thoughts into an organized document structure

6) NotebookLM: More Powerful ‘Study + Research Assistant’

AI Plus brings additional NotebookLM access for more in-depth study and analysis. NotebookLM is most beneficial for you if you are learning from PDFs/Notes/Written Articles and need:
summaries

key points

“the ability to

Structured Notes

However, the subscription website also lists “more Audio Overviews, notebooks and more” under the Plus level of service (compared with free)

7) 200 GB cloud storage (Photos + Drive + Gmail)

“AI Plus comes with a combined storage capacity of 200GB from Google Photos, Google Drive, and Gmail. This is an enormous convenience, particularly if the space from your Gmail is full. You can also back up plenty of photos, and the service will certainly come in handy.”

Sharing with family (up to 5 people)

According to Google, you are able to share all these advantages with up to five other members of your family. This means that if you are in a family or organization, it is beneficial compared to paying when you are using your accounts and following all necessary requirements.

Comparison of AI Plus with other Google AI plans (India)

Google’s own subscription page illustrates the positioning thus:

Free ($0)

Access to Gemini (with limited access to Gemini 3 Pro)

Some AI Credits (100/month shown on the page)

The strongest ‘good fit’ scenarios would be:

1) Students and Exam Preparation

3) Working Professionals / Small Business

If you do lots of:

email draft writing + response polishing
Proposals, Reports, Meeting Minutes

Document Rewriting quick research summaries …Gemini within Google Apps can help save time. Gemini +1 4) Individuals who require additional Google storage space Having an additional 200GB of space, even without the heavy usage of AI, is definitely an advantage, especially if you’re running out of space for Photos/Drive/Gmail. This is an advantage, and then the inclusion of AI blog.google 1 How to subscribe (simple steps) Google AI Plus is offered through Google’s subscription flows (from the Gemini subscription page/Google One). Essentially, this means that Go to the subscriptions page on Gemini and select Google AI Plus Log in using your Google credentials Make Your Final Choice and Pay You should then notice the enhancement of limits/features appearing in Gemini/NotebookLM and qualifying Google apps Gemini 1 Key limitations and points to note in practical applications of these methods Credits & “limited access” – Video creation is useful but not unlimited—AI Plus comes with only 200 credits per month and emphasizes limited Veo availability; the more prolific users may outgrow the tool and require the upgraded versions, Pro or Ultra. Gemini In particular, its availability can be different for the web browser and the app versions of Gemini, and Google may be introducing certain functions step by step. Gemini Age/Eligibility: According to Google’s information, Gemini will be included in the list of users of the Gmail/Docs and Google AI plans for users who are at least 18 years old, based on the Twins Dependability is tied to usage: If you only ask basic questions from time to time, free Gemini may be sufficient. AI Plus is most useful if you regularly rely on AI tools for studying, working, and creating and reach free limitations. GEM Why Google introduced AI Plus in India (The bigger picture) “The major headline here is the price. Google is launching the AI Plus service for an introductory price of ₹199/month. This is positioned nicely to go head-to-head with other competing low-cost AI subscription offerings in the market within India,” many reports have observed. TechCr +1 There’s a huge following of Android/Google services in India itself, and it’s easier to migrate free to paying subscribers when there’s a lower tier, especially if free subscribers are looking to get ‘premium-ish’ AI but don’t shell out ₹1,950 per month.
